Burgers are one of the most popular things to eat in America. In my opinion quite rightly so! But, sometimes you want to switch things up from just a regular patty in a bun. This is where the grilled beef-gyros burger comes into play! If you have ever been to Greece then you must have had a Gyros and you will know they are great! You can check out some other great Greek food here!
To make the burger you should use mince quality sirloin steak, salt, and pepper! Make the burgers about 200 grams each and get them on the grill. For medium-rare you will want to get them 130°F to 135°F internally. A little higher if you have another preference.
It is time to make the gyros part of the burger you will need the following:
Pork tenderloin cut in strips (500 gr)
2-4 clove garlic minced
2 onions sliced or chopped
2 tbsp oregano
2 tbsp smoked paprika powder
1 tbsps cummin
1 tsp cinnamon
Juice of 1 Lemmon
Make a marinade of the ingredients (except the onion) and add the strips of pork tenderloin. Once prepared you should put it in the refrigerator for about 3-5 hours.
Grill the strips in a hot skillet, add the onions. Once they are nearly done you should lower the temperature and simmer with a lid on for 10 minutes.
Build the Grilled Beef-Gyros Burger!
With everything ready, it is time to grill the bun. Make sure the grill is not searing hot or you will mess it up. With this finished it is time to build the burger. Start with the bottom bun and add the lettuce to it. You will want to place the burger on top of this. If you are adding tomato place it on top of the burger. Pile on the gyros and smother with garlic sauce. Place the top bun on and you are finished!
