Grilled Ribeye Steaks with Caramelized Shallot Butter Sauce

This caramelized shallot butter recipe will help you take your steaks to that next level by providing a new layer of flavor to a standard steak. When I make this recipe I use grilled ribeye steaks as that is my favorite choice but if your choice of steak is cooked well then you will still have a fantastic meal. Because this is a quick meal you can cook the steaks over direct heat on the grill and they should come out perfect.

Prep time: 15 min | Cook time: 20 min | Total time: 35 min

Ingredients:

1 tablespoon Olive Oil
2 Shallots, finely chopped
1/2 teaspoon Sugar
6 tablespoons Butter, unsalted
1 teaspoon Worcestershire Sauce
2 Tablespoons Chives, snipped
2 Steaks
Kosher Salt
Ground Black Pepper

Instructions for Grilled Ribeye Steaks:

First, you want to make the sauce, heat up some oil in a small pan. Do this over medium-low heat.
Add the shallots to the oil and cook for 5 minutes (until they are soft).
Add the sugar to the mixture and keep cooking for about 10 minutes or until the shallots are very soft and browned (be careful not to burn them).
Sprinkle in the sugar and continue cooking for approximately 10 minutes or until the shallots are very soft and browned (not burnt).
Stir the Worcestershire sauce.
You should keep the sauce warm over low heat until the steaks are fully ready. Add in the chives just before you pour it on the ribeyes.
Prepare the grill so that it is ready for direct grilling. It is best to get one side of the grill hot so you can sear the meat and have one side at medium heat.
Put your seasoning on the steaks, I always use salt and pepper.
When it’s hot put the steaks right over the direct heat. Keep the steaks over the heat for about a minute and then you can rotate them 90 degrees to get those nice burn marks on the steak. After another minute turn the steak over and repeat.
With this done you should transfer the steaks to the medium heat side. Keep them there until they reach the doneness that you desire.
The steaks are ready to eat with the great sauce you made.
